GUEST LECTURES CONDUCTED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL MEDICINE.
The Department of General Medicine organized two guest lectures:
TOPIC 1: MANAGEMENT OF HYPERTENSION AND HYPERTENSIVE CRISIS BY DR SURESH V SAGARAD, SENIOR CARDIOLOGIST RGSSH, RAICHUR
TOPIC 2: PULMONARY EMBOLISM BY DR MURULI RAO, SENIOR CARDIOLOGIST RGSSH, RAICHUR

Program started with welcome address by Dr.Harika.
Guest speakers Dr Suresh V Sagarad & Dr Murali Rao were introduced to audience by Dr Ramakrishna MR, Professor & Dr Shankar Kurugod, Associate Professor respectively
Dr. T Srinivas, Registrar NMCH&RC made opening remarks by saying that regularly organizing such guest lectures will help to increase the quality of learning among post-graduate medical students & junior doctors and also help in acquiring specialized knowledge, expertise needed for medical care of the patients.
Dr Suresh V Sagarad gave a detailed lecture on complications of Hypertension & its effects on target organs-brain, heart and kidneys, importance of early interventions adequate treatment modalities to prevent morbidity and mortality & explained with facts & figures.
Dr. Murali Rao gave a detailed lecture on Pulmonary Embolism which is more serious disease than Acute Myocardial Ischemia and explained about the importance of detection and treatment at an early stage to prevent morbidity and mortality with examples of various studies & guidelines.
Following two lectures a question answer session was arranged and there was a lot of interactions by the post graduate students and faculties.
Faculties from Dept of General Medicine Dr Vinay kumar, Dr Shivakumar, Dr Varun, Dr Harika, Dr Sirish, Dr Saichander were actively participated in the interaction with guest lecturers.
Dr. Narayana Pendlikar RMO, Dr. Narayanappa ARMO, Dr. Digambar Rao CMO, Faculties, Heads of all clinical and paraclinical departments, post graduate students, junior doctors attended the guest lectures.
Dr.B.Devananda Dean/Principal, Dr.Arun Nayak Medical Superintendent, Dr.Bandenawaz Professor and Medical Education Coordinator, and Dr.Shankarappa M Mudgal Professor and Head of General Medicine Department, provided support and guidance for the successful conduct of this program.
Finally Dr. Suresh V Sagarad and Dr. Murali Rao were felicitated and the program concluded with a vote of thanks.
